A Process for Presentations with Style

I am really worried that I have a problem…

…I am addicted to processes!

Recently several of my clients asked for help with presentation skills and with 17 years of training experience and 10 years of presenting project updates and successful sales presentations I had loads to offer them.

After digging through all my past materials I decided to have a look on Amazon for some new ideas…

…and that was where I found it…

Graham Davies – The Presentation Coach: Bare Knuckle Brilliance for Every Presenter

Graham’s pet hates:

  • Badly prepared presenters,
  • Lazy presenters relying too heavily on Powerpoint

And he does not pull his punches. I loved his attitude!

But what I loved most was his Pipeline process. A really neat step by step approach to preparing truly great presentations.

In truth it is a simple message to:

1. Stay true to the reason for the presentation,

2. Have respect for your audience and consider what they might want out of the time they have given up to let you talk,

3. Make your words the heart of your presentation, with your slides simply used to enhance those words,

4. And of course… the age old message… prepare; prepare; prepare.

Thank you to Graham Davies – I am a convert and my craving for processes is happy… for now!
